Made over a period of a couple of years, one or two evenings a week, this record is a true multitracking extravaganza. Some songs had dozens of parts, and no two parts were recorded simultaneously. One thing that stands out about this record is the quality of Bryan's songs -- emotionally naked, recorded during a cathartic time in his life.

We took our time making this record, working to match the arrangements and production perfectly to each song. Bryan is a gifted songwriter, and the imagery of the songs begged for a broad array of stylings. The record ranges from pop to gospel to bluegrass in a wide swath of folk-rock.

This record was recorded with a huge cast of characters -- but always the same rhythm section. Zillions of tracks overdubs and many gigabytes of data. On one song, we counted one hundred individual strings. Try keeping 100 strings in tune.
